The staff speak an impressive array of languages though I didn't try out Malay or Hokkien on them. They are on hand to advise on anything you may wish to know about the city and tickets are available for purchase for city tours, either by bus or boat

There is also an interesting array of literature to peruse and purchase, offering different takes on the city from traditional to cultural to alternative
