Authentic and delicious Brasilian spot with tender meat, intense homemade pimenta and strong caipirinhas. The staff was friendly, I felt like I stepped into mini brasil. Small, quaint, relaxed environment where you can brush up on your portugese.

We visited Barraco, but when we arrived it looked to have changed names to Kaiparina, but still a little Brazilian cafe!
Started the dinner with a very strong Caiprinha, my friend had a glass of the house red, which she said was surprisingly good.
We then had fried prawns without shells for a starter, which were delish. I can't put my finger on what the flavour was, but they were perfectly cooked and very tasty.
My friend then had chicken with cheese, rice and beans for her main. Which was good, but nothing to write home about.
I had beef ribs with rice and beans. The ribs could have been cooked a little lower/slower and I think they would have ended up more tender. Additionally they were quite salty... and I really like salt.
All in all an enjoyable night out, but at almost an hour away from my house, nothing I would recommend or travel back for. If you are in the area not a bad alternative to you standard English fare at a pub.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paulo N.Londres, Reino Unido020828 de may de 2016
Splendid little hidden gem. I'm a bit nervous of letting people in on this secret but they're great and deserve the praise.
Fantastic and very authentic place with good prices. Simple plastic tablecloth decor, just like many places in Brazil. Love this place and I keep going back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Daphne M.San Ramon, Estados Unidos029 de nov de 2015
PRO: Authentic Brazilian food, lively atmosphere, super friendly staff!
CON: The musicians were playing way too loud for the space in the back
BOTTOM LINE: If you want good Brazilian food in a casual and welcoming atmosphere, go here!
Came here with my family on my most recent trip in London (Oct 2015), and am shocked that I haven't found this place before! I lived in South America for a year, and was in Rio and Sao Paolo for a spell during Carnival in 2014, and was a huge fan of the pao de queijo (little balls of cheese bread; heaven!) and caipirnhas (lime and brown sugar cocktail with rum; but who wouldn't be a fan?) so those were my first orders.
We also ordered the typical Brazilian steak, and also tried a grilled fish. Seeing farofa (toasted cassava flour mixture that you can put on meats) on the table made me smile, and I knew I'd be in for a good meal.
Everything was amazingly delicious; meat was perfectly done, and fish was also grilled to perfection. It was well seasoned, but simple in flavor, so you get the taste of the meats themselves. Rice and beans were sides, and I really appreciated that they flavored their rice with what seemed like garlic, oil and salt; could've eaten a whole bowl of that by itself.
And the pao de queijo did not disappoint! We got ours fresh from the oven and it was incredible! Finished off with a few espressos; absolutely great meal!
The staff was fantastic as well. We made reservations for 7:30pm but showed up at 6:30pm as very hungry customers, and they accommodated us no problem. But this is definitely a dress-down affair; simple and mismatched table cloths and thin fold-out tables are the setting. There was a Brazilian duo playing some really great music and my only complaint was that they were using amps that were too loud for the small space.
Oh, and you can definitely taste the rum in the caipirnhas, so you are getting your money's worth, but I think because you cannot get South American limes, the drink turned out to be too sweet for my taste.
Overall, a wonderful experience; was so glad to have found such an amazing little piece of Brazil in West Hampstead.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anthony B.Portland, Estados Unidos064 de mar de 2018
If you don't ear here at least once YOU ARE MISSING out. My 2nd day in London and I just happened to discover this "back alley". If you looking for fancy, this ain't it! This is like eating at your family dinner table, if you have a somewhat big family. The atmosphere is small and intimate ( bright lighting) and most patrons are Brazilian ex-pats - food is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this place.

We went to Barraco2 (NW10 5NN) on 25/02/2011, and it was such a pleasant suprise. The food was wonderful; freshly cooked and seasoned to perfection.
Starters: Chicken hearts & Brazillian sausage
Mains: Steak, rice and beans & Kebabs, rice and beans
Drinks: Draugh beer & guava juice
The owners were extremely friendly, and the portion sizes were outstandingly good value for money. We thought we would share 2 starters, but really only one was necessary! I was in future suggest either the hearts or sausage acompanies by some bread or something to dip in the juices.
Have already told numerous people about this place, and really cannot wait to go back... after being told about Barraco by a Brazillian guy, he didn't disappoint us with his recommendation.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Philip M.Londres, Reino Unido013122 de jun de 2015
Brilliant reasonable prices and something delightfully simple but different.
Rice and beans one of my new faves will have to find out how to cook them.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Goetz B.Londres, Reino Unido674341917 de abr de 2013Reseña actualizada
Recently someone recommended this little place to me, otherwise I would probably never have found it. Barraco is a Brazilian restaurant and deli tucked away in a little side street just off Kilburn High Road. It seems to be popular with Brazilians - perhaps because this place is not only a restaurant, cafe and bar, but also sells Brazilian products.
Barraco is a nice place offering Brazilian dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. The food is good and not very expensive and you could try some Brazilian specialties.
I really like this quirky, down-to-earth place, especially the little dog that sat by the door to great every guest. Nice touch.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 031 de ene de 2013Reseña anteriorRecently someone recommended this little place to me, otherwise I would probably never have found it. Good cheap eats. Like another review here, we only came because of a recommendation - it was the third which clinched it.
We ate relatively plain food - calamari to start (big enough to share) then river fish (grilled with rice and salad) and chicken (grilled with rice and beans). Plain though it was, it was excellent, and if we had let our taste buds run riot I'm sure we would have enjoyed the steaks too. It's A Brazilian cafe - don't expect a jus or veloute - just very decent well cooked meat and some stuff to have with it.
Made a massive change from endless noodles, burgers and pizza we've been eating for the past few weeks while we have the kitchen replaced at home.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tony R.Londres, Reino Unido020314 de sept de 2016
We wanted to have some meet for dinner and this place looked good for it. We had cap of rump (picanha), Brazilian sliced beef (grilled special) and chicken breast with tomato and cheese (peito de frango). All tasted delicious, specially the picanha steak.
However there were a couple of things which perhaps could be improvable:
- My dish (Brazilian sliced beef) came with bread, however they forgot to bring it. After the second time I asked for it one of the waiters told me they run out of it and in exchange he offered me a side order. Appropriate counter offer but I didn't take it since I only wanted bread. I would have appreciated if I had been informed about the lack of bread earlier.
- Since we made the order until we were served was exactly 40 minutes. Not a problem if the food is good as it was.
A positive surprise happened when we were paying. We were discounted one pound. I thing this was because they run out of cash or they did not want to mesh with coins (it was however a fiver note which needed to be exchanged by four pounds). It was funny and welcome nevertheless.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
